I am a software developer based out of Denver, Colorado.
Before getting into the tech world, I worked in public K-12 education for 11 years in teaching, school leadership, and school consulting roles. Most recently I worked as an assistant principal at STRIVE Prep Westwood, a free, open enrollment, public charter school committed to providing every student with an excellent, high-quality, college-preparatory education. Before STRIVE Prep, I worked as a School Tools and Systems Designer at New Visions for Public Schools, where I consulted with New York City public high school principals to help them develop strong routines and systems that support attendance, personalized scheduling, and robust interventions for students who fall off track. In many cases I built custom web-based tools to support the communication, tracking, and data management that serve as a foundation for the systems and routines I help principals design.
I began my education career in Teach for America after graduating from the University of Michigan. I taught English Language Arts and World Studies at CIS 339: School of Communication Technology, a turnaround neighborhood middle school in the South Bronx. From there I worked for four years as the assistant principal of the NYC iSchool, a flagship school for blended and project based learning in New York City.
When I'm not working, I am skiing, running, cooking vegan food, and trying to be the best father and husband I can be.
